Moving with Container Art from Harbor to Harbors.

"bu dong zhongwen. Wo shi Tai guo ren!"

Throughout all my trip from Chiang Mai International airport to the container site in Kaohsiung Museum of Arts (http://www.kmfa.gov.tw), I repeated this sentence over and over when Taiwanese tried to talk to me in Chinese. Obviously, my face looks Chinese or Japanese.

People often get confused about where I come from when I travel abroad. It always takes a bit longer than normal at the immigration checkpoint, when officers look at my Thai passport and my face more than twice. This is why my students in Chiang Mai call me in Thai "Moi Inter" meaning international Chinese girl.

I just try to up lode my images to the platform and it was fun to do so.. imagine how nice if audiences or even myself view all the generated images at the site..
I find that the project is so cool and fun.. and yet controversial for consumer as artist..

To exchange at the airport they rate is butter but they you need to pay the service charge.

In the city, there are differences rate and no service charge.. The best rate I saw is around the fashion street “Vaci u.” around Deakter area.

I went back to hostel, chat with people there and had a long sleep..

a long long night..
last night I was so tried.. but still going out with a close friend "Mah".
We went to the place we always end up to be.. the riverside..
we met lot of friends by chance -- they handed me glass of wonderful orange juice mixed with some rum and a sad story of another friend... that made me drank all night .. till now..
swimming in the weird dream..
the sad story keep turning around my head...

ดูเหมือนว่าฉันจะมีธุระไปเมืองกรุงทุก3เดือน แต่อย่างไงก็ตามก็มีคนต่างถิ่น รวมทั้งคนกรุงและคนต่างชาติ มาเยี่ยมเยือนฉัน ที่เชียงใหม่อยู่เสมอ จนไม่รู้สึกว่า "คิดถึงใครเป็นพิเศษ" เอาซะเลย คราวนี้ที่ไปเมืองกรุงมีเรื่องสองเรื่องที่ต้องทำให้สำเร็จ ทั้งสองเรื่องเป็นเรื่องที่ฉันลุ้น ก่อนเดินทางว่าจะลงเอยอย่างไร
เรื่องแรกคือ การแสดงงานศิลปะ กับเพื่อนศิลปินคนไทยกับฝรั่ง สถานที่ที่ใช้แสดงนั้น ฉันยังไม่เคยเห็นด้วยตาตนเอง เคยเห็นแต่ในรูป รูปที่ ทิน ทิน เพื่อนศิลปินคนที่จัดงานนี้เค้าส่งมาให้ ฉันก็จินตนาการไปเองส่วนหนึ่ง กับสถานที่ อีกส่วนหนึ่งค่อยไปว่ากันอีกทีตอนที่ฉันไปถึงแล้ว อันที่จริงหลังจากแสดงงานกลุ่มที่ชื่อ Platform: about installation แล้ว ฉันเคยเพ้อฝันไปว่า อยากได้สถานที่ประมาณนี่ สำหรับทำงานชุดใหม่ของฉัน แต่พอถึงเวลานี้จริงๆ ด้วยเวลา และ ทุน อันน้อยนิดที่ฉันมี ทำให้ฉันไม่สามารถทุ่มเทพลังงานมากเท่าที่ฉันคาดไว้ได้มากนั้น แต่ฉันก็อยากให้โอกาส อันนี้ ให้ตัวเองได้ปลดปล่อยการทดลองบางอย่าง ที่เคยท่วมท้นในหัวของฉันมาเกือบครึ่งปีนี้ ออกมาเป็นมาให้ผู้คนเห็นเสียที อีกเรื่องที่ฉันอยากรู้เห็นมากก็คือ ความเคลื่อนไหวของดนตรี และศิลปะ ความคิดเห็นต่างๆ ของคนในกลุ่มที่มารวมกันแสดงผลงานเหล่านี้

อีกเรื่องที่ทำให้ฉันปวดหัววิ่งไป วิ่งมา ออนไลน์คุยกับผู้คนอยู่เป็นบ้าเป็นบอ ตลอด 2-3 อาทิตย์ที่ผ่านมานี้ก็คือ การที่ฉันจะเดินทางไปร่วมสัมนา เวิค์กชอบ และแสดงงานศิลปะ ที่ประเทศ โรมาเนีย เดือนหน้านี้ เรื่องของเรื่อง มีอยู่ว่า สถานฑูตโรมาเนียที่กรุงเทพ ฝ่ายวีซ่า ปิดทำงาน 2 เดือน ทำให้ฉันเป็นเดือดเป็นร้อนต้องหาทางไปขอวีซ่าโรมาเนียในประเทศอื่น จนสรุปแล้วกับผู้ให้ทุนว่าจะไปทำวีซ่าที่เมืองบุดาเปส ประเทศฮังการี ซึ่งฉันต้องบินไปลงก่อนจะเดินทางเข้าโรมาเนียอยู่แล้ว ปัญหาแรกด่วนตอนนี้คือฉันต้องขอวีซ่าประเทศฮังการีให้ได้ก่อน ที่กรุงเทพนี้แหละ สาธุ ขอให้ผ่านฉลุย ด้วยเถอะ ที่ฉันกลัวก็เพราะ จดหมายเชิญทุกฉบับที่ฉันมีเขียนสนับสนุนการเดินทางไปโรมาเนียหมด แต่ไม่ได้ระบุชื่อฮังการีเลย พระเจ้าช่วย..

ดูเหมือนว่าการเดินทางเข้ากรุงครั้งนี้มีเรื่องให้ลุ้นจริงๆ

High Energy Constructs is pleased to present Internal mechanisms - a group exhibition of contemporary artists working in Los Angeles; New Haven, Connecticut; Amsterdam; and Chang Mai, Thailand. Showcasing the work of eight artists working in a variety of media, the exhibition exposes the emotional and physical complexities that are encountered when artist's political beliefs shape their personal practices, both materially and conceptually. Discerning how the outside world influences our internal perceptions, and vice versa, the artists assembled here offer new mechanisms for how we view and shape the world around us: large or small, personal or political.

Internal Mechanisms features work by Semâ Bekirović, Laura Forman, Emilie Halpern, Jason Starr and Justin Hansch, Dhavid Streicher, Sutthirat Supaparinya, Kaari Upson, Louisa Van Leer, and is curated by Joseph Imhauser.

Internal Mechanisms is proud to be the first US exhibit for artist Semâ Bekirovic, and the US premiere of "Taste of Noodles" (2006), a video documentary by Sutthirat Supaparinya.

About the artists:

Semâ Bekirovi ć is an artist working primarily in photography and video. Bekirovic has studied at BDK, Berlin and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie, Amsterdam. She has attended the Rijksakademie residency, Amsterdam (2005-2006) and Lijiang Studio residency, China (2006). She has shown in numerous museum, art spaces, and galleries in China and throughout Europe. Internal Mechanisms is her first US exhibition. Bekirovic lives and work in Amsterdam.

Laura Forman has shown throughout Southern California and in New York. She has studied at the San Francisco Art Institute, Santa Monica College, and is a recent graduate of the California Institute of the Arts. Forman lives and works in Los Angeles.

Emilie Halpern's work has been included in exhibitions at Casey Kaplan, New York; ACME, Los Angeles; The Breeder, Athens; and Kunstraum Innsbruck. She received her MFA from Art Center College of Design in 2002 and her BA from University of California, Los Angeles in 1998. Halpern recently completed a solo project at The Santa Barbara Contemporary Arts Forum, 2007 and will have a solo exhibition at Medium Gallery, St. Barthes later this year. Halpern is represented by Anna Helwing Gallery, Los Angeles, where she has had solo shows in 2004 and 2006.

Jason Starr has shown in Austin, Berlin, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Malmo, Sweeden. He received his MFA from University of Southern California in 2007 and his BFA from California Institute of the Arts in 2005.

Justin Hansch has shown in Austin, Berlin, Chicago, Copenhagen, London, and Los Angeles.. He is founder of Justin's Museum of Contemporary Art and has studied at Mountain School of Art, Los Angeles and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. In 2008, Hansch will be included in a group exhibit at Yalu River Art Museum, Dandong City, China.

Dhavid Streicher is a visual artist and electronic composer. He has shown throughout Southern California as well as in New Haven, Chicago, and Cambridge, United Kingdom. He has organized sound art happenings in Chicago, and his composition, Raushgebet (2005) was released through the label (12/24) MHz. Streicher is currently completing an MFA in Sculpture at Yale University and received his BFA from the California Institute of the Arts in 2006. Streicher lives and works in New Haven.

Sutthirat Supaparinya is an educator, artist, and filmmaker working primarily in multi-media installation and video documentary. Her work has been shown in Germany and throughout Asia . She is currently teaching a guest lecturer at Payap University and Chiang Mai Rajabhat University, Graduate School of Media and Communication Technology. Supaparinya lives and works in Chiang Mai, Thailand.

Louisa Van Leer's multi-discipline practice includes sculpture, photography, installation, public art, and architecture. She received her MFA from California Institute of the Arts in 2006, her BFA and BA from Rhode Island School of Design in 1991, and was awarded her California architecture license in 2001. She is a 2006 recipient of a Skowhegan Fellowship in Painting and Sculpture. Van Leer lives and works in Los Angeles.

Kaari Upson has exhibited her work in New York and Los Angeles. She has studied at the New York Studio School and at the California Institute of the Arts, where she received her BFA in 2004 and, most recently, her MFA in 2007. Upson lives and works in Los Angeles and New York.

About the curator: Joseph Imhauser is an artist whose works have been shown in Los Angeles, São Paulo, Orlando, Florida, and throughout Missouri. He received his BFA from CalArts in 2005. Joseph currently lives and works in Los Angeles. Internal Mechanisms is his first curatorial project.

Internal mechanisms will be on view from July 28 – September 1 2007. An opening reception for the artists will be held in the gallery on Saturday, July 28, 2007, from 6 – 10 pm, at 990 North Hill Street, Suite # 180, in Los Angeles' Chinatown. A trip to ancient city, Sukhothai with Payap Uni

Besides the beautiful ancient temples and Buddha images in Sukhothai, like a retreat trip for me this time, the trip... gave me a chance to escape from my buzzzy time in Chiang Mai..

Chatting with guest house owner there, a bit in Italian... Stayed in the darkness and quite location... Chilled me out and lying near the pool... looked at thousand stars..Being in the historical park... with lot of ponds and big three..
..thanks for the trip that introduced me to nice and new friends from other Uni.. near by Sukhothai, Narasaun University..

It's really "SUKHO THAI- Dawn of Happiness" city for me ;-)
I'm ready to work again tomorrow!

«Media Art Net 1: An Overview of Media Art» is the first module published in the Net and is accompanied by this volume of text. This module will serve as a foundation for all later modules, and reacts at the same time to an additional paradox of mediation in the media: even those relevant websites that deal with media art still lacked up until now a comprehensive introduction to this subject. We thus see in the exemplary selection of materials and source texts as well the semantic links made by both authors as well as the database an important prerequisite for developing approaches to a curriculum on media art. Free access to these materials is a central aspect of the project. In terms of subject matter, ten introductory essays dedicated both to historical developments as well as interlinking references in terms of content are collected to an «overview.»
